About Penang
Penang Island is joined to mainland Malaysia by Penang Bridge which is one of the longest in mainland Asia. The island is around 280 square kilometers in area and has a hilly and forested interior. The highest point on the island is 883 meter high Penang hill which offers a great view of Georgetown.
This island has great cultural and ethnical diversity and has a large Chinese population. Here you will find Chinese temples, Indian temples and Christian churches all within the same block not to mention all of the Mosques.Penang is also the food capital of Malaysia where you can find great food extremely cheaply.

Penang’s climate is hot all through the year as it enjoys the warm weather of the equator.
The annual rainfall is spread throughout the year with marginally more rain falling between September and November.
