About Sabah

Sabah lies on the North East tip of the island of Borneo and is filled in dense tropical forest. The clear waters off the coast are some of the best preserved coral reefs in the world and are home to all sorts of marine life. Mt Kinabalu is the largest mountain in South East Asia and stands at 4101 meters. Although being high it is a reasonably easy trek which can be completed by people of all ages.

The national parks of Sabah are home to all sorts of wildlife from the orangutans, tigers, the Sumatran rhinoceros, leopards and all types of birds. Sabah can be reached from mainland Malaysia by air or boat. With a diverse population, Sabah is home to some 31 indigenous groups which speak over 50 languages which are unique to the region.

Sabah Holiday Attractions

There is a lot to see and do on a trip to Sabah from scaling Mt Kinabalu to trekking through the forest of the national parks. The orangutan sanctuary is popular with tourists as it gives a rare sight of these remarkable animals.

Also popular is the trip to Sipadan Island whose marine life and clear waters is known by divers all over the world.

The white beaches of Tunku Abdul National Park are open to visitors and you are able to camp and trek through the interior and snorkel the coral reefs that lie offshore.  

Sabah Weather

Sabah enjoys an equatorial climate with high year round temperatures of between 21 and 33 degrees. The best time to visit is between the summer months of April until September.

Later on in the year there can be a lot of rain and humidity is typically high all year round.
